I went with a Z790 motherboard
Yep, DDR5. I figured if I’m upgrading, might as well future-proof it. Plus, the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on this board are game-changers. No more messy adapters.Kai wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:44 pm Z790? That’s one of the newer Intel boards, right? Did you go for DDR5 RAM too?
Good question! The motherboard is like the backbone of your PC. Different boards support different CPUs, RAM types, and features. For example, Usman’s Z790 is for Intel’s newer chips, and Ali’s B450 is for AMD processors.Maverick wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:48 pm Wait, hold up. What exactly is the difference between these motherboards? I’m not super tech-savvy, but I know I need to upgrade my PC.
Oh, so I have to decide between Intel and AMD first?Kai wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:48 pmGood question! The motherboard is like the backbone of your PC. The Z790 motherboard gives you better VRMs, PCIe lanes, and support for high-speed RAM. Are you planning to overclock your CPU or RAM, or did you just want the extra features?Silas wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:44 pm So, I recently upgraded my PC, and I went with a Z790 motherboard. It's amazing! The performance boost is insane.
