Hello everybody, I'm as of now contemplating updating my Graphic card. I have GTX 1080 or . and thinking to move on RTX 2060 or GTX 1660-Ti However, Most of my friends guide me to upgrade the mother too other wise it would be extremely bottlenecked. What you think do i need to change my board too ?

Yes, Sometimes you have to upgrade your motherboard when you're thinking to update the card. But if you have a good gaming motherboard then it won't necessary. Which motherboard you're currently using ?

I am using ASUSTek M5A78L-M/USB3. I think i should change my board, since its an outdated

Your motherboard can easily handle and 1080, on the other hands it won't support RTX 2060. I think maybe an RX460 or a 1050ti can be supportable too

Your motherboard seems look good but outdated too. It can support both cards but it will effect on the performance. Upgrading the CPU would be a great deal too it will help to see vast improvements in the majority of situations.

Thanks for the informative post. I will move to ryzen 3 processor/Motherboard and probably go with the 1660-T

If you have a good budged then buy GeForce RTX 3070. Since you're upgrading to new motherboard with processor then why not chose an updating card too

Thanks for the advice but sorry its to much expensive in my town. I can only offord either this card or a new motherboard. I will think about it in future but for now i will go with 1660-T
