Re: I went with a Z790 motherboard

Hmm, makes sense. So what about connectivity? I hate dealing with slow Wi-Fi.

Re: I went with a Z790 motherboard

That’s cool, but I’m still stuck with my B450. It’s solid, though. I mean, for gaming, it gets the job done, especially since I paired it with a Ryzen 5.

Re: Option right now

But isn’t NVIDIA better for ray tracing and DLSS? I mean, DLSS 3.0 looks like magic for boosting frame rates without losing quality. It is, but how often are you really playing games that require maxed-out ray tracing? AMD’s performance-per-dollar is better overall, especially at 1440p and 4K. Also...

Re: Option right now

True, but have you seen the price tag on that thing? Unless you’re swimming in cash, it’s overkill. The RTX 4070 Ti is a solid option for high-performance gaming without breaking the bank.

Re: Overclock my CPU

True. Those chips are already optimized for gaming out of the box. But if you really want to overclock, focus on the RAM and Infinity Fabric speed. AMD loves faster memory.

Re: Overclock my CPU

Good choice. But are you sure you need to overclock? Most CPUs these days, especially Intel’s and AMD’s high-end ones, already boost themselves pretty aggressively.

Re: . AMD or Intel? What do you think is better for gaming and video editing?

That’s true, but Intel usually brings the latest features to market faster, like DDR5 support and Thunderbolt. Plus, compatibility isn’t always straightforward with AMD; some people have issues with RAM speeds or BIOS updates.

Re: . AMD or Intel? What do you think is better for gaming and video editing?

Okay, but have you guys seen the benchmarks for the Ryzen 7000 series? They’ve closed the gap in gaming, and they still dominate in multi-tasking. I mean, if you’re doing both gaming and video editing, AMD is a no-brainer. True, but Intel’s 13th Gen processors, like the Core i9-13900K, are insane f...

Re: . AMD or Intel? What do you think is better for gaming and video editing?

Hmm, fair point, but for pure gaming? Intel still has the edge with single-core performance. Games aren’t as multi-threaded as editing software, so Intel’s higher clock speeds make a difference.
