Altcoins are any cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. They were created to improve upon Bitcoin or serve different purposes in the crypto world.

Exactly! Some altcoins, like Ethereum, have smart contracts, which allow automated agreements without needing a middleman. Others, like Litecoin, focus on faster and cheaper transactions.

Some use them for payments, others for investing. Many altcoins also power blockchain projects, like DeFi (decentralized finance) apps, NFTs, and gaming platforms.

I see. But are altcoins as valuable as Bitcoin?

Not always. Some altcoins have strong use cases and gain value, while others fade away. Bitcoin is still the most dominant, but some altcoins perform well in the market.

Makes sense! So, before investing in altcoins, I should research their purpose and potential?

Exactly! Look at their technology, team, and real-world usage. Some altcoins bring great innovation, while others are just hype.
