My Laptop freezes any time I start BitTorrent

Have noticed recently, when i open the Newly updated BitTorrent PC client, my laptop's fan kicks off and the entire thing just freezes. It forces me to hard reset. Doesn't happen with outer Apps. What could be the issue?
