I’ve been thinking about overclocking my CPU. Do you think it’s worth it?

It depends. Overclocking can boost performance, but it also increases heat and power consumption. Do you have good cooling?

I just have a stock cooler.

Yeah, that won’t cut it for serious overclocking. You’ll need at least a good air cooler or an AIO liquid cooler to keep temperatures under control.

What about overclocking RAM?

What about overclocking RAM?
That’s usually safer and easier. Just enabling XMP or DOCP in BIOS can boost RAM speeds without much risk.

Nice! But does overclocking really make a big difference in games?

For the CPU, it depends on the game. Some games benefit a lot, especially if they’re CPU-heavy, but for most, the GPU matters more. RAM overclocking, on the other hand, can help with overall system performance and reduce bottlenecks.

I guess I’ll upgrade my cooler first and then try overclocking.

Keep an eye on temps and stability when you do it.
